The New Moon appeared on June 3. But you can still observe faint objects such as galaxies and star clusters because there is hardly any moonlight to spoil your fun.

Moreover, this is the perfect time to see the biggest planet as it comes closest to the earth on June 10. Fully illuminated by the sun, it will be brighter than at any other time of the year and will be visible all night long. If you have a telescope, you could get a better view and maybe even photograph Jupiter and its bands of clouds. You can also see four of Jupiter’s largest moons, appearing as bright dots on either side of the planet.

Summer solstice

This month also witnesses the summer solstice. Here is more information about it.
