Have you heard your elders say, “That’s our Right!” or sometimes, “We have the right to do this!” What are they talking about? They are referring to our fundamental rights as citizens of India. But who gives us these rights? The Indian Constitution.

The Constitution of India is the supreme law of our country. It frames the basic political principles, procedures, practices, rights, powers and duties of the government and the people. It was created by the Constituent Assembly and adopted by its people, with a declaration in its Preamble. So, it has constitutional supremacy.
