The month began on a bright note. The night skies were lit up with the gibbous moon in form. Another major sighting will be from August 12 to August 22. The “Galaxy Window” will remain open. The centre of our galaxy looks spectacular in August, but only when the Moon is down. So look south during the week to get a great view of the galaxy’s centre from our position in its Orion Spiral Arm. You’ll also see Jupiter and Saturn on its eastern side.
