June 5 is World Environment Day. It is the United Nations’ principal vehicle for action to protect the environment. First conceived in 1974, it has since been a platform to raise awareness on environmental issue such as marine pollution, overpopulation, global warming, sustainable consumption, wildlife conservation, to name a few.
