Design for Change – I CAN Awards 2016

On December 3 & 4, Design For Change (DFC) and Parle G co-hosted the third edition of the ‘I CAN’ awards ceremony 2016, where 100 most inspiring stories from across the country were honoured. From curbing farmer suicides to building low cost toilets to creating gratitude boxes in the classroom to fighting child abuse – changes like these and more, all of which have been initiated by school children from across India.

In its 8th year, the ‘Design For Change school challenge’ received 3610 projects of Change from 27 states across India - including Kanyakumari in the South, to Leh in the North, Guwahati in the East, to Vapi in the West. Till date, DFC has impacted over 4.9 lakh children in India alone. The projects are judged by some of the best design minds from across the world. In this series, we shall also look at the award-winning entries, but first, a snapshot of the awards!
