Marching to adulthood
The novel Little Women is written by Louisa M. Alcott. It tells the story of the March girls: Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy. They live with their mother Marmee, while their father, Mr. March is a Union chaplain in the Civil War. They are not rich but they are happy. Soon, they befriend their neighbour Mr. Laurence’s grandson, Laurie.
The girls have a lot of adventures and the story takes you through the years of their growing up. There are times of joy and there are times of sorrow, but together as a family they weather the storms.
