Most words we use have a synonym and an antonym. A synonym is a word that means the same or almost the same as another word. An antonym is a word that means the opposite or nearly the opposite of another word. For example, if we want to write another word for ‘demolish’ we can use ‘ruin’ or ‘devastate’. The antonym of ‘demolish’ would be ‘construct’ or ‘repair’. Similarly, the synonym for ‘eager’ will be ‘keen’ or ‘acquisitive’, while the antonym will be ‘indifferent’ or ‘apathetic’.
