Wind energy has been used by man from olden days to power boats as well as windmills. Today, wind power refers to the use of air flow through wind turbines to mechanically power generators for electric power. Watch the video for these examples at 'work'!

Wind energy, as an alternative to burning fossil fuels, is plentiful, renewable, clean, produces no greenhouse gas emissions during operation, consumes no water, and uses little land. The net effects on the environment are far more favourable than other non-renewable power sources. The more we use, the better it is for a cleaner and greener environment!
