One of the most common grammatical errors involves the use of Its and It’s.

It’s actually quite easy to master the rules. When you mean to say it is or it has, use it’s. For example: It’s a bright morning. It’s been great working with you.

When you mean to say that something belongs to something, use its. For example: The dog wagged its tail.

A simple way to find out if you are using the right word is to expand it to ‘it is’ or ‘it has’ and see if it still makes sense. In our examples here, It is a bright morning makes sense but The dog wagged it is tail doesn’t.
