Onam is grand festival in the state of Kerala, celebrated between August and September. It marks the summer harvest and is celebrated with numerous festivities such as Vallam Kalli (boat races), Pulikali (tiger dances), Pookalam (flower arrangements) and more.
A very important part of the festival is the famous Onam Sadhya. It is an elaborate multi-course meal that has at least 11 to 12 dishes but in some places can go up to as many as 30 dishes! Watch the video to find out what some of the typical dishes in an Onam sadhya are! Tuck in!
