With its unparalleled bio-diversity, India supports a paradise of butterflies. The largest Indian butterfly is the Southern bird wing, found in the Western Ghats. The smallest butterfly in India is the Grass jewel. Not only are butterflies beautiful to watch, they are an important part of our food chain, and are also indicators of changes in the environment.
