In 2011, Lisa Jane Campbell of Chishakwe Ranch in Zimbabwe while searching for ideas and potential collaborators to support World Rhino Day, found Rhishja Cota-Larson’s blog. Rhishja is the founder of Annamiticus, a non-profit organisation which provides educational information and news about wildlife crime and endangered species. Lisa and Rhishja got together to make World Rhino Day a day of celebration.
Since then, the Day has grown to become a global phenomenon, uniting NGOs, zoos, cause-related organisations, businesses, and concerned individuals from nearly every corner of the world.
