The most coveted prize in any sporting event is the trophy. It is an attestation of the individual or team being the champion.
Trophies or cups come in various sizes, designs and materials. There are some really beautiful trophies like the Venus Rosewater Dish, which is presented to the winner of the Ladies’ Singles at The Championships, Wimbledon (below).
And some not-so-nice looking ones like the trophy awarded to the winner of the Paris-Roubaix Cycling Championship (below).
Nevertheless, they are the crowning glories for the winners.
