Plastic is everywhere. In today’s world, it’s almost impossible to go through even a day without encountering some form of plastic. The amount of plastic produced in a year is roughly the same as the entire weight of humanity. Every minute of every day, the equivalent of one garbage truck of plastic enters our oceans. Did you know that virtually every piece of plastic that was ever made still exists in some shape or form (with the exception of the small amount that has been incinerated)?
june 5 is World Environment Day. The theme for this year is #BeatPlasticPollution. This is a reminder that we need to act to save the planet from the plastic crisis.
