Being flexible is an important part of being fit. In fact, it is one of the five elements of fitness. But what is flexibility? Flexibility is the ability of each joint in the body to move through the available range of motion for that specific joint. Stretching exercises help improve flexibility, allowing muscles and joints to bend and move easily.

Why are stretches important:

– It can help prevent injuries
– It helps your body recover after exercise, hence it is very important to stretch before and after exercising
– It helps your body remain flexible as you grow
– Flexible people are able to move quicker, easily and perform better as well
– It reduces muscle tension
– It increases blood flow to the muscles
