If you Google 'People who have changed the world' you will find the name of Nelson Mandela on that illustrious list.
Nelson Mandela was one of the presidents of South Africa. But his journey to the presidential seat was turbulent and filled with strife. He fought for the rights of his people and went through great trials and tribulations to get the people of his country their freedom. On June 12, 1964, Nelson Mandela was sentenced to life imprisonment. His sentence however only lasted for 27 years instead. During this time, he did not stop fighting for his people. The year 2020 marks 30 years since this sentence.
