Ever wondered why the house sparrows are not so common anymore? In fact, if you live in a bustling city, chances are you may not even have spotted one in recent years. Birds like the sparrows have been affected by urbanisation which has reduced their opportunities for nesting and foraging. Modern buildings have fewer holes, nooks, and crannies that serve as nesting spaces. Decreasing green spaces, manicured gardens, and loss of trees are other factors.
