An annual event held in China, the Harbin Ice and Snow Festival is one of the world’s largest winter festivals, renowned for its magnificent sculptures and architecture all made of ice, and vibrant winter activities. The festival typically begins in early January and lasts for about a month, showcasing a wonderland of intricately carved sculptures, illuminated by colourful lights, creating a magical spectacle.

Visitors can explore ice castles, sculptures of famous landmarks, participate in ice-related activities, and enjoy various cultural events during this winter extravaganza. In fact, apart from hosting this festival, the city is renowned as the ice-carving capital of China. Skilled artisans create magnificent ice sculptures throughout the year. Harbin introduced the first tram system in China in 1899, making it a pioneer in public transportation in the country.
