Learn Math through Sports – 3
In every task that we do, we need to understand how much time it will take - be it projects, construction, studying for exams or even homework! We might start doing it slowly, but we end up allocating only a few days for it. We realise that as the deadline gets closer and closer, we have not done enough work and we need to put in a few more hours everyday to finish it!
Work is mathematically calculated as Rate X Time. So if it is building a house, the amount of work might be calculated as rate of work men can do in a day x number of days. Some work can be done 'simultaneously' - which means, tasks can be done in parallel, like cleaning a beach. Some work can be done only 'alternately' - which means one task or one person has to finish before the next task/person starts, like the process of wearing shoes, where you need to wear your socks, and then your shoes and then tie your shoelaces (you can't do them in parallel, can you?!) Let's look at what happens in the field of sport!
