Did you know that the Indian Army is the 4th largest standing Army in the world! It has its origins in the armies of the East India Company, which went on to become the British Indian Army.
The Indian Army, which is the land-based branch of the Indian Armed Forces, comprises many officers in different ranks – each with its own function and responsibility.
Currently, the Indian Army Ranks are classified into three categories: Commissioned Officers; Junior Commissioned Officers; and Other Ranks comprising non-commissioned officers and soldiers.
They all start off as officer cadets, and eventually move on to higher ranks based on various assessments, time served, and merit. And each rank comes with its own insignia – an official sign/ emblem that is representative of the ranks.
Based on your knowledge of the Indian Army and using clues from the insignia, can you arrange these army ranks from highest to lowest? (Note: This is not the complete list of ranks. Some have been left out)
