If you are interested in DIY crafts, here’s something you can try out at home! Let’s make a pretty water candle!
Step 1:
Cut a piece of the transparent plastic sheet such that it fits into the glass (slightly smaller than the mouth of the glass).
Step 2:
Poke a hole through the centre of the transparent plastic sheet using a pin/compass, and widen it using a pencil.
The hole should look similar to this.
Step 3:
Pass the wick through the hole. Use tape to hold the wick in place.
Step 4:
Take the glass of water and place some pebbles in it. You can also use marbles instead.
Step 5:
Add a few drops of coloured ink to the water. You can also use food colour.
Your glass will look like this.
Step 6:
Add some lamp oil to the glass of water.
Your glass will now look like this.
Step 7:
Carefully place the piece of transparent plastic sheet with the attached wick on the surface of the liquid in the glass.
Step 8:
Now light the wick. Your water candle is ready!
Try this out at home! Make sure to use equipment and matches in the presence of an adult.
