Mardi Gras!
Mardi Gras is an annual festival which falls on the day before Ash Wednesday, which signals the beginning of the Christian season of Lent. It is traditionally an opportunity for fun and feasting before the 46 days of fasting before Easter. The day of Mardi Gras changes every year. This year it is on February 14.
Festivities usually start at the beginning of February, and consist of parades, dancing in the street, costumes and masked balls. Some of the most famous celebrations are held in Nice (France), Cologne (Germany), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and New Orleans (USA).
