2025 is the Year of Snakes, according to the Chinese almanac. So we have chosen 12 snakes, one for each month, to showcase the fascinating diversity of these often-misunderstood creatures. This series will talk about the unique features and habitats, and offer fun facts for each snake in an attempt to foster curiosity about and respect for these reptiles and also explain why they need to be saved.
In January, we feature the King Cobra, the world’s longest venomous snake, known for its iconic hood and powerful venom. Despite its fearsome reputation, it plays a vital role in maintaining ecological balance.
