If you are an avid star gazer like me you would have spotted Callisto’s shadow and the Great Red Spot on Jupiter last evening. From time to time, the small, round, black shadows cast by one or more of Jupiter’s four Galilean moons can be seen in amateur telescopes as they cross the disk of the giant planet. Every second or third day, the Great Red Spot transits the planet for several hours.
