Prep up for the run

Running is a sport and there are many who run the marathon. But did you know you still need to train to run?

The marathon is a long-distance race usually run as a road race. The event was instituted in commemoration of the fabled run of the Greek soldier Pheidippides, a messenger from the Battle of Marathon to Athens, who reported the victory. The marathon can be completed by running or with a run/walk strategy.

However, even if you think of making a start remember that you need to train and eat right to be able to run, maintain stamina and finish the race.

Ever wondered how it feels to be on top of the world? Scaling one of these seven peaks will make you feel just that – literally! Read more to find out more about these peaks.

The Seven Summits is the collective name given to the highest mountain peaks of each of the seven continents.

Though there are slight variations of the list, this one is widely accepted. Avid mountaineers consider climbing to the summit of all of them as a mountaineering challenge. This feat was first achieved by Richard Bass on April 30, 1985.
