You’ve probably heard of knights from stories, perhaps in fairy tales? Knight is a term to refer to a warrior or nobleman in former times, or today to refer to a person who has been given a royal recognition. During the middle ages, the term knight referred to a mounted and armoured soldier. Originally, knights were warriors on horseback, but the title became increasingly connected to nobility and social status. Knighthood eventually became a formal title bestowed on those noblemen trained for active war duty.

Here is a memory game for you! Try matching these knights as quickly as you can.

It has been a wonderful year for badminton and October was no different. Let’s take a look at some significant achievements…

It has been a fantastic year for Srikanth Kidambi – who won the Indonesian, Australian, Denmark and French Open tournaments. Just to give a background, he won the 2017 Indonesia Super Series Premier beating Japan’s Kazumasa Sakai 21-11, 21-19 thereby becoming the 1st ever Indian man to do so. He also went on to win the 2017 Australian Super Series beating China’s Chen Long 22-20, 21-16, making a record of entering three consecutive Super Series Events Finals. In October, Srikanth won the third Super Series Title of the Year at 2017 Denmark Super Series Premier, by defeating Lee Hyun-il of Korea 21-10,21-5.

Following his good run, he became only the fourth Badminton Player ever to win 4 Super Series titles in a year, when he won 2017 French Super Series equaling the likes of Lee Chong Wei, Lin Dan, and Chen Long by defeating Japan’s Kenta Nishimoto 21-14,21-13 in the finals, catapulting him to number 2 in world ranking.
