Who doesn’t love eating? One’s choice may vary from sizzling Italian, to spicy Chinese or comforting homemade food, but there’s nothing better than eating what you crave. Now imagine if you outsourced a robot to whip up your favourite food! Here are some chef robots that can whip up that yummy dish for you.

Read the following about the different robotic inventions for the kitchen and unscramble the words below.

APRIL

An acronym for Automated Processing Robotic Ingredient Loading, April can cook your favourite dish with the same finesse as professional chefs. Developed by OAL, April is a fully automated robotic system that “uses state of the art cooking and material handling technologies to process ingredients with real care.” It can heat, mix, homogenise, load and cook ingredients by using modern cooking and material handling technologies. The company aims at boosting the production, efficiency and quality of food manufacturing through the robot.

COOKI

You get your food with the push of a button. That’s Cooki for you. Developed by a U.S.-based start-up called Sereneti, it uses a robotic arm to mix preloaded ingredients. You can choose the recipe of the dish you feel like eating through a mobile app called Foodi. The data is sent to the robot through a Bluetooth or WiFi connection. Then, all that remains to be done is loading the ingredients into the food trays of the robot. The robot arm, which has a spatula at its end, stirs the ingredients and the food is ready in no time!

Robotic Kitchen

Developed by Moley Robotics, a U.K.-based company, the robotic kitchen comprises an oven, fridge, dishwasher, touchscreen unit and small appliances. It sports a pair of large robotic arms and hands that play the part of a chef. The hands, which can chop, stir, pour, use a blender and utensils, and turn the stove on and off, are equipped with tactile sensors. One can operate the robo-kitchen with the help of a smartphone app or a touchscreen. The robot learns the recipes by following the movements of a human chef wearing cyber gloves, captured by a 3D camera.
