1. Nachos

Nachos are a dish from northern Mexico. The dish is composed of tortilla chips covered with cheese and is often served as a snack. The original nachos, created in 1943, consisted of fried corn tortillas covered with melted cheese and sliced jalapeño peppers. Today, the dish has several possible ingredients, with the most common toppings being cheese, guacamole, salsa, sour cream, jalapeños, and sometimes lettuce.

2. Tacos

A taco is a traditional Mexican dish composed of a corn or wheat tortilla folded around a filling. A taco can be made with a variety of fillings, including meat, seafood, vegetables, and cheese. A taco shell (the outer cover) can either be a soft shell or a hard shell.

3. Quesadillas

A quesadilla (pronounced- Ke-sa-di-ya) is a tortilla which is filled with cheese and then grilled. Other items such as a savoury mixture of spices or vegetables are often added and then cooked. A full quesadilla involves two tortillas filled with cheese and stacked on top of each other; they are often cut into triangular shapes.

4. Burritos

A burrito consists of a large wheat flour tortilla with a filling, wrapped into a closed-ended cylinder, in contrast to a taco, where the tortilla is simply folded around the filling. Fillings vary from place to place, but often meat, beans, spiced rice, lettuce, salsa, guacamole, cheese, sour cream and vegetables are used.

5. Flan

Looks familiar, doesn’t it? Flan is very similar to what is known as creme caramel or caramel custard in other parts of the world.
