Famous ‘Child Actors’ – 3

1. At the age of twelve, she gained widespread recognition as Claudia in Interview with the Vampire (1994), a role for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress. She appeared in Little Women the same year and in Jumanji the following year. You might have probably seen her in a ‘Spiderman’ movie!

2. She studied dancing and acting in New York, and starred in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace while still at high school on Long Island. She has won various awards including the Academy Awards (Oscars), BAFTA and Screen Actors Guild awards. You might have seen her in one of her more recent roles in the movie ‘Thor’!

3. He made his film debut with a minor part in Back to the Future Part II (1989). He is best known for his high-profile leading role as Frodo Baggins in Peter Jackson’s epic film trilogy The Lord of the Rings (2001–03).

4. She was an American actress, singer, dancer, businesswoman, and diplomat who was Hollywood’s box-office wonder as a child actress from 1935 to 1938. As an adult, she was named United States ambassador to Ghana and to Czechoslovakia and also served as Chief of Protocol of the United States.

Did you know that June 9th was the birthday of Donald Duck? We shall dedicate this week’s sketch to him!

Donald’s first appearance was in 1934 in “The Wise Little Hen”. It was his second appearance in “Orphan’s Benefit” which introduced him as a comic foil to Mickey Mouse and made him more famous! Donald Duck has some amazing expressions, thanks to his illustrators and animators! But first, let’s learn how to sketch Donald Duck, shall we?

Donald has a few memorable phrases for different situations. For example, when things don’t go as he’d planned or don’t work properly, he often says, “What’s the big idea?!”. When he has given up on something he’s been trying to do, or something he’s been hoping will happen, he tends to say, “Aw, phooey!”. He greets his friend Daisy, and occasionally others, with, “Hiya, toots!”.
