Mask making workshop – ‘Back to School’ for kids in Chennai

Messy hands met creative ideas at the mask making workshop conducted by The Hindu Young World Club’ under the ‘Back to School’ series.

The mask-making workshop conducted as part of The Hindu Young World Club’s ‘Back to School’ series and spearheaded by Studio 41 witnessed messy hands and creative minds coming together in a brilliant mélange of vibrant ideas and artistic creations. A ‘Batman’ mask, an ‘Elsa’ mask, and many others aroused curiosity.

While the introductory demo featured a single mask design, the children amazingly lent a creative twist to their masks. The outcome – no two masks looked similar!

Wall Painting – ‘Back to School’ for kids in Chennai

Yellow, orange, blue, green – children in Chennai wielded brushes to give a wall a makeover during The Hindu Young World Club’s ‘Back to School’ activity.

Yellow, orange, blue, green – the colours on the wall were as bright as the children painting it. Armed with brushes and paint cans, an excited bunch of children tried their hand at giving a compound wall in Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai, a makeover on June 4.

The wall painting session anchored by Kri Foundation gave children a chance to unleash their creativity on a public space, along with the opportunity to make a change that will be cherished by the community. The activity was conducted as part of The Hindu Young World Club’s ‘Back to School’ series.

Zumba at the beach – ‘Back to School’ for kids in Chennai

Fun Sunday! Children enjoyed Zumba at the beach as a part of ‘Back to School’ conducted by The Hindu Young World Club.

At 6 30 on a Sunday morning – the time of the day that’s usually set aside for sleeping in – scores of children chose fitness over rest, and descended upon The Hindu’s Car Free Sunday at Elliot’s Beach, Chennai, for a Zumba session! With the trainers from Sucheta Pal’s team (celebrity fitness trainer and master trainer for Zumba® International) setting the pace, the young dancers spiritedly followed, and an energetic hour ensued. The rising sun brilliantly set the scene for a colourful and cheerful session at the beach. The activity was a part of The Hindu Young World Club’s ‘Back to School’ series in Chennai.
