Today is World Ocean Day. It celebrates the importance of oceans in our lives and highlights the dangers this sensitive ecosystem faces and tells us what we can do to protect them,

Ocean pollution is a significant global environmental issue caused by the discharge of various pollutants into the world’s oceans. Common sources of ocean pollution include industrial waste, oil spills, plastic debris, agricultural runoff, and sewage discharge. This has detrimental effects on marine ecosystems, leading to the loss of biodiversity, destruction of habitats, and the endangerment of marine species.
Additionally, ocean pollution poses a threat to human health through the contamination of seafood and the degradation of coastal water quality. Addressing ocean pollution requires a collective effort, including stricter regulations, improved waste management practices, and the promotion of sustainable alternatives to reduce the impact on the world’s oceans.
