Hindustani and Carnatic music, besides a few others, are synonymous with traditional Indian music. But there’s more to the rich repertoire of Indian music, that have their roots in the rich culture of our villages and rural communities.
Tamil Nadu’s villu paatu is one such example. A traditional form of musical storytelling, it takes its name after the bow used as an instrument to narrate stories from mythology and society in general.
