There’s a car in space! It was sent into space as part of a test launch for the super heavy rocket named Falcon Heavy.
The Falcon Heavy is a reusable super heavy-lift launch vehicle designed and manufactured by SpaceX. SpaceX successfully launched the Falcon Heavy on February 6, 2018, at 3:45 p.m. EST. The dummy payload on its maiden flight was SpaceX founder Elon Musk’s Tesla Roadster. Scroll over and take a look at some of the fantastic photos…
Though the Falcon Heavy’s two outer cores successfully landed after the launch, the core centre booster missed the drone ship where it was supposed to land and is supposed to have fallen into the sea. Falcon Heavy was designed from the outset to carry humans into space, including to the Moon and Mars, although as of February 5, 2018, there are no plans to use Falcon Heavy for crewed missions; it will instead be devoted to payloads such as large satellites.
