Are you aware that the shortest format of cricket, Twenty20, is also the newest format of the game? In fact, the first international T20 game, between New Zealand and Australia, was played at Auckland, New Zealand only on February 17, 2005.

Over 14 years later, five batsmen have crossed the 2,000-run mark. The top two currently are both Indians – Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma – and they seem to be taking it in turns to lead the list of run-getters in T20 internationals. This interesting sub-plot has become part of India’s T20 encounters in recent times…
