Though jellyfish are believed to be older than dinosaurs, scientists continue to discover new facts about them every year. There are more than 2000 different types of jellyfish, each unique in its physical characteristics and purpose. What is common, though, is how they reproduce.
Most jellyfish release sperm or eggs directly into the water, which develop into adults. But before they do, they pass through 4-5 stages of development.
