Are you one of the thousands of people who has been tuning in to the Cricket World Cup this year? What a ride it has been.
India made it to their seventh semi-finals in a world cup tournament and played against New Zealand on July 9 with New Zealand winning the toss and opting to bat first. At a score of 211-5 in the 47th over, rain caused the game to be stopped. The match resumed the next day (the reserve day), July 10. It was a nail-biting match. New Zealand scored 239 runs and defeated India by 8 runs as they managed to score just 221 runs.
The second semi-finals took place on July 11 and saw the long time cricketing rivals England and Australia against each other. Australia won the toss and decided to bat first and were bowled out for 223. England chased the target of 224 and even though had a slow beginning, defeated Australia by eight wickets with more than 10 overs to spare. The victory has made England into the finals for the first time since 1992.
Now the final match of the ICC Cricket World Cup tournament is here - July 14, to be exact. Neither New Zealand or England have ever won the Cricket World Cup before, so history will be made on the day. Who will take home the trophy?
