Fine lines

These lines, called palmar flexion creases, develop before we are even born. When we scrunch our hands into a fist or other complex shapes, the palm’s skin folds without bunching up, which makes it easy to grab onto things. That’s why the creases are where the bones in the finger and thumbs meet to ease movement.
