Terms and Conditions

  • Entry into the contest will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  • The Organisers decision as to those able to take part in the contest shall be final and binding.
  • The contest and these terms and conditions will be governed by Indian law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Chennai only.
  • The participants ought to have entered into the contest with the consent of their parent/guardian to participate in the contest
  • The decision of the Organiser in relation to all matters concerning the contest shall be final and binding on all.
  • Participant(s)/Winner(s) shall not have/claim any copyright or other intellectual property right in the entry, photograph, answers, or any other material submitted as part of the contest (hereinafter collectively referred to as ‘the Work’). All and any copyright/ intellectual property right in the Work shall solely belong to /vest in the Organisers.

    1. Participant should be residing/studying in one of the states/UT namely:
      1. Andhra Pradesh
      2. Karnataka
      3. Kerala
      4. Puducherry
      5. Tamil Nadu
      6. Telangana
    2. Participant should fall in any of the categories:
      1. Sub-Juniors: Classes 3, 4 and 5
      2. Juniors: Classes 6, 7 and 8
      3. Seniors: Classes 9, 10, 11 and 12
      1. Participant should choose one of the Topics, as per their eligibility category:
        1. Sub-Juniors
          • Dream Home
          • Family Picnic
          • My Favourite Animal
        2. Juniors
          • Favourite Festival
          • Fun with Family
          • Wildlife Safari
        3. Seniors
          1. Colours of India
          2. Family Vacation
          3. Clean and Green India
      1. A participant may choose any one of the above topics as per their category eligibility and paint on a white drawing sheet (size 32.5 w * 25.5 cm h)
      2. A participant may use water colours, crayons and colour pencils. Sketch pens and markers can be used only for outline purposes.
      3. The participant then has to visit www.ywc.thehindu.com/jswpaints for a mandatory registration process.
      4. Every participant must use a unique mobile number and email ID for registration.
      5. Every participant can submit only one painting.
      6. Post completion of registration, the participant has to upload a clear scanned copy of their painting and generate their Unique Registration Number.
      7. This Unique Registration Number will be used to identify the participant till the end of this competition.
      8. The participant must write the following on their drawing sheet, without which their entry will not qualify for the next round:
        1. Front: Unique Registration Number and Topic
        2. Back: Name, Class, School Name (with branch), City, State, Category of Participation, Parent’s name, and Registered email ID and mobile number
      9.  The physical drawing should then be sent to the nearest office of The Hindu, as chosen by the participant during the online registration process.
      10. While sending the drawing, on the top left of the envelope, the participant is requested to mention, “JSW Futurescapes Painting Competition 2021”.
      11. The participant must ensure that the painting reaches The Hindu Office before 10th March 2021. Post this deadline, the entry will not be considered.
      12. If the participant qualifies for the finale, the date and details will be intimated to them through their registered email ID.

    6. FINALE:
      1. All preliminary drawings will be judged basis the parameters fixed by panel of judges.
      2. Finale date and timing (start and stop) along with other details will be intimated to the shortlisted finalists through their registered email ID.
      3. 3 topics will be sent through to their registered Email ID 30 minutes prior to the commencement schedule.
      4. The participant should use a drawing sheet of size 32.5 cm W x 25.5 cm H.
      5. A participant may use watercolours, crayons and colour pencils. Sketch pens and markers can be used only for outline purposes.
      6. The Unique Registration Number (allotted to them during registration for the prelims) should be clearly written on the front of the painting.
      7. Participants should complete and upload the drawings in the said website portal before the completion timeframe indicated.
      8. The original drawing should be sent to the nearest The Hindu Office, on completion of the upload process.
      1. The Awards Ceremony will be conducted virtually on zoom platform.
      2. Top 10 winners in each category will be shortlisted and announced.
      1. First Prize – ₹ 10,000
      2. Second Prize – ₹ 7,500
      3. Third Prize – ₹ 5,000
      4. Consolation Prize – ₹ 1,500 for 7 persons
      5. Stage-wise digital certificates for all participants, qualifiers and the winners
