The Winter Olympics are currently underway in South Korea. Athletes from countries around the world compete in sports that are exhilarating and thrilling. Learn a little bit about some of these sports and games with these shuffle puzzles.

75 years of the Paricutin volcano

The Paricutin volcano erupted on February 20, 1943. It’s been 75 years, and good enough reason to take a look back at the event…

The Parícutin volcano is located in Mexico. It erupted from 1943 to 1952, unusually long for this type of volcano, and with several eruptive phases. The eruption began on February 20, 1943, at about 4:00 PM local time. The importance of the Parícutin eruption was that it was the first time that volcanologists were able to fully document the entire life cycle of a volcano. Scroll on to learn more…

Despite the ongoing Second World War, the eruption drew attention from around the world, with reporters from newspapers and magazines including Life coming to cover the story.
