Alligators Vs crocodiles?
What is the difference between alligators and crocodiles?
Avni Mendiratta , Faridabad, Haryana
The two reptile groups are close relatives. Crocs have V-shaped snouts and live in saltwater habitats, while alligators have U-shaped snouts and prefer freshwater marshes and lakes. The fourth tooth on each side of the croc’s lower jaw sticks out over the upper lip, making it seem as if it is smiling. In the case of alligators, the upper jaw is wider than the lower one, so when they close their mouth all the teeth are hidden.
